FRICTION AND ROLLING RESISTANCE COEFFICIENTS OF FIG

Authors:   F.N. Alayunt, B. Çakmak, H.Z. Can
Keywords:   Friction coefficient, rolling resistance, fig fruit
Abstract:
The coefficients of friction and rolling resistance on various surfaces have great importance for designing agricultural machinery. In this research, two different methods were used. Rolling resistance or maximum angle of stability appearing during the rolling of fruits was measured on an inclined plane. To determine friction resistance, fruits were moved on seven different surfaces: aluminium, rubber, canvas, iron plate, polyester, stainless steel and polyethylene.
