Abstract:
In this study, the fruits of Abbas and Sari cultivars grown intensively in the Kahramanmaras province were investigated in order to put forward the flower biology and fertilization sequence of the selected types.
The female flower development from budbreak to harvest both in breba and main crop of type 461–1 (Abbas cv) and type 463–1 (Sari cv) were determined under trinoculer stereo microscope.
Only type 46.YY.01 had a breba crop.
The breba fruits of this type was harvested in the first week of July in 1993. The development stage of profichi crop from the male trees of type 46.EY.01 was determined from fruit bud swelling to the flying period of Blastophaga psenes. Blastophaga psenes reached the mature stage and left the fruits in the middle of July.
The male flowers in the mammoni crop of type 46.EY.01 developed fully with anthers opening in mid July.
