Abstract:
The aim of this study is to find new fig varieties producing breba fruits in order to extend the marketing season by filling the gap in the domestic and export markets during the early season. Thus, some of the varieties present in the collection garden of the Fig Research Institute in Erbeyli-Aydin/Turkey were evaluated in terms of vegetative growth, apical dofffminance, fruit set, pomological and phenological characteristics and ripening periods. Among the investigated varieties, Horasan seemed to rank in the first position.
