NITROGEN-POTASSIUM INTERACTIONS IN ASPARAGUS

Author:   D.C. Sanders
Abstract:
The all male hybrid ‘Jersey Gem’ v. was grown at all possible combinations of 0, 50, 100, 150, and 200 kg N/ha and 0, 50, 150, 250, and 350 kg K2O/ha and harvested for 5 years. Yield accumulations increased with N up to 150 kg/ha and with K2O up to 150 kg/ha, but not significant interaction between N and K rates except in 1996. Also, the accumulated yield for the 5 years had only a response to N. However, when annual data were combined over years there was a significant interaction between N and K with 150 kg/ha of each resulting in the greatest yield.
