PRELIMINARY REPORT ABOUT WILD PRUNUS DOMESTICA L. IN XINJIANG (WESTERN CHINA)

Abstract:
Prunus domestica L. was considered to have originated in the Caucasus. In 1988 wild P. domestica L. was discovered in Xinjiang province (western China). The morphological characteristics of the plants and their hexaploid chromosom number (48) match P. domestica. The botanical and pomological descriptions are given.
