Abstract:
During the three year investigations on fertilization in vitro of plum Stanley and Sweet Common Prune cvs. the chemotropism of the pollen tubes near the ovules and the nucelluses was proved. Pollen tubes showed the stronger chemotropic reaction in the direction to the ovules than to the nucelluses. The pollination of nucelluses and ovules was made on the White medium with addition 15% of sucrose; after 24 hours the nucelluses and ovules were transferred onto Norstog medium with addition of different concentration of sucrose and growth substances. The double fertilization was proved by the microscopic observations. The best results were obtained on Norstog medium with addition of 3.4% sucrose and without growth substances. The embryos originated from natural fertilization in orchard and rescued seven days after blooming developed into plantlets.
