ISHS Acta Horticulturae 474: III International Symposium on Olive Growing

INTERACTION OF CULTIVAR ROOTSTOCK AND WATER AVAILABILITY ON OLIVE TREE PERFORMANCE AND FRUIT PRODUCTION

Authors:   S. Lavee, J. Schachtel
Keywords:   olive rootstock, irrigation, production
Abstract:
Three olive cultivars Souri, Muhasan and Barnea were reciprocally used as scions and rootstock under dry land and 2 levels of irrigation. After 10 years from planting, the rootstocks did not show any significant effect on tree vigor, shape and fruit production. The level of water availability had a marked effect on all growth and production parameters including fatty acid composition.
