Abstract:
Due to our continental climate, climate resistance is one of the most important factors in relation to yield reliability in the vine regions of Hungary.
Effects of drought and frosts were studied in rootstock and wine grape varieties.
Water deficiency and frosts elicit variety-specific reactions.
The rootstock variety Börner and the fruiting varieties Kadarka, Karát and Kövidinka excelled in drought tolerance while the wine grape varieties Cserszegi füszeres, Kecskemét 15 and White Riesling showed high winter tolerance at -21 °C. Both stress impacts affected yield quantity and quality negatively.
Trials also call attention to the importance of the question.
