ISHS Acta Horticulturae 470: II International Symposium on Pistachios and Almonds

EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT PISTACIA SPECIES POLLEN ON FRUIT DIMENSION AND WEIGHT IN THE SIIRT CULTIVAR

Author:   B.E. Ak
Keywords:   Pistachio, pollen, dimension
Abstract:
In this experiment, the effects of P. vera, P. atlantica and P. terebinthus pollen on fruit dimensions and weight were investigated for two years. The results were different in each year. The fruit which were pollinated with P. vera pollen were better than those resulting from pollination by other Pistacia species. Fruit weight, width and thickness were affected by parent pollen choice. Fruit length and shelling percentage were affected as well.
