A NEED FOR UNIFORMITY IN TERMINOLOGY AND DATA REQUIREMENTS FOR RESEARCH ON BULBOUS SPECIES

Abstract:
The establishment of an International Committee on Terminology and Data Requirements on Bulbous Species is proposed. Specific areas of terminology should include:

terms related to many or all bulbous species,
terms applicable to the type of plant material utilized,
terminology for commercial utilization of bulbous species,
physical facilities used for bulb species,
physiological disorders and
diseases and insects.

Minimum data requirements are needed for research on all bulbous species.
