Abstract:
Daily cycles of 1.7/12.8°C for six weeks resulted in superior plants which flowered rapidly with high bud numbers.
One week of 4.4°C, three weeks of 15.6°C, and four weeks of 4.4°C resulted in superior "Nellie White" plants.
For "Ace" two weeks of 4.4°C, three weeks of 15.6°C, and three weeks of 4.4°C was superior.
Lighting newly-emerged shoots from non-vernalized bulbs for 10 long days, 20 normal days, 20 long days, resulted in superior plants in "Ace" and "Nellie White". From floral differentiation to visible buds and from visible buds to anthesis day/night temperatures of 18.3/15.6°C and 21.1/18.3°C respectively were optimum.
