Abstract:
Experiments are described where different temperature regimes were applied to forced bulbs of tulip "Paul Richter", after planting.
Fastest flowering followed low initial temperatures followed by high temperatures, and the results are interpreted on the basis of two processes, the satisfaction of the cold requirement and shoot extension growth.
The former has a lower optimum temperature.
