Abstract:
Two transformants of Pakchoi (Brassica campestris L. ssp. chinensis) were obtained in the progeny of infiltrated plants with Basta resistant assay.
Genetic and molecular analyses suggested that each of the transformants possessed one insert site; the two insert sites were in the different chromosomes and showed mendelian segregation in their progenies.
The success verified that the infiltration method is adapted for other species except Arabidopsis thaliana, the first successful species transformed by this method.
