Abstract:
The Smederevo Danube basin is a distinct region for peach growing in Yugoslavia.
This work is a study of the more important biological features of 14 introduced processing varieties of peaches: Villa Ada, Villa Adriana, Adriatica, Villa Doria, Villa Giulia, Shasta, Babygold 6, Fortuna, Babygold 5, Vivian, Babygold 7, Andross, Loadel, Jungerman and as a standard the variety Redhaven.
All the varieties, studied under the conditions of the Smederevo Danube basin, ripen after Redhaven (from July 27 to September 18). On average the fruit is smaller than the standard.
The chemical features of the fruit are better, and so is the organoleptic quality.
