Abstract:
In Romania, the sour cherry species is widely grown, both in extensive commercial cherry plantings and home fruit gardens.
The major cultivars grown are: Crisana, Tarina, Dropia, Timpuriu de Pitesti, Pitic de Iasi, etc.
The Prunus cerasus is a popular crop because its fruit can be freshly marketed and commercially processed as juices, jams and jellies.
