Abstract:
A three - year trial was conducted to study the effect of nitrogen rates and application dates on the yield of white cabbage (cv.
Bijeljinski) as a succeeding crop.
Ten fertilization variants with different nitrogen rates were used.
Highest cabbage head yield was achieved by applying nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium at rates 240, 140 and 210 kg per ha respectively.
The amounts of nitrogen were introduced to the soil as phosphate and potassium fertilizers by ploughing as well as by incorporating 322 kg of urea 46% fertilizers per ha.
Identical fertilizers were supplied to the soil by mineral nutrition during the vegetation season at the rate of 130 kg per ha.
