Abstract:
A trial involving 12 cabbage genotypes with various values for quantitative characters was set up at the Experiment Field of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops at Rimski Šancevi. The trial was conducted in 1992 and 1993 on the part of the Vegetables Department and a randomized block design with three replications was used. Two-factorial variance analysis was applied for the purpose of data processing and the phenotypic variability of the following characters was calculated: average head mass, utilizable part of the head, head height, head diameter, core length, and yield. The results showed the lowest phenotypic coefficient of variation to be in the case of head diameter (10.01) and the highest with respect to core length (20.98). As regards the other characters, this indicator ranged from 12.30 to 20.25.
