Abstract:
Under conditions of intensive farming, the problem of trace elements in the soil - plant system attains a significant importance.
In the period 1990 – 1992, a study was made on the chromium content in the crop produce of 28 vegetable species.
The most common vegetable cultivars from the main vegetable species were involved in the study.
Specific and varietal differences were established with respect to the chromium content in the products of the vegetable crops.
There are differences in the chromium content of crop products among the cultivars from the same species.
The least varietal differences were found in tomatoes, the greatest in radishes.
The varietal differences in terms of chromium were also well displayed in early white cabbages and water melons.
An analysis of the chromium content by plant sample was carried out using a new extraction - spectrophotometric method with Nitroblau Tetrazolium chloride.
The reproducibility of the method (tested with 5 samples and with a 95% confidence interval using Student's T-test) was evaluated.
It was established that the ion - pair had high stability.
