DETERMINING THE ADHESION OF PESTICIDE SOLUTIONS

Authors:   E. Mihaylova, V. Gueorguiev, Z. Zaprianov, K. Mihov
Keywords:   adhesion work, adhesives, border angle, wetting, surface tension, waxy covering, plant protection
Abstract:
A method for indirect measurement of adhesion has been used. The method is based on the equation of Dupre - Young and could be used for measurement of the adhesion of pesticide solutions, water solutions with low concentration of dissolved substance and other liquids, ensuring a rapidity of the test and an easy reproducibility.

The adhesion measurements of pesticide solutions with different additives (Pavolin and Modipan T) applied for improving the adhesion have been performed. The pesticide solutions with Modipan T have better adhesion than these with Pavolin for all concentrations of additives (1%, 3%, and 5%). The method's accuracy is determined by the error of ±5%.
