Abstract:
It is possible to obtain energy savings in the production of potatoes when tilling the soil with the aid of new technical-technological solutions, i.e., a combination of plough and subsoiler -- a plough turns over the upper horizon of soil, while a subsoiler sheds the lower subhorizon (taking care not to direct it up to the surface). In comparative researches of the plough/subsoiler combination in soil tillage for the same total depth of 25 cm it was found that for ploughing one needs 20.65 l/ha, while operating at the depth of 15 cm plus 10 cm of subsoiling with combined equipment requires 13.74 l/ha.
And, at the total depth of 30 cm ploughing requires 26.28 l/ha, while combined equipment operating at the depth of 15+15 cm will consume 18.39 l/ha.
Thus, when applying a new technological procedure, combined equipment will meet a technological preparation of soil and provide savings on fuel in the process.
