| Abstract:
Contemporary agriculture needs new high quality green bean cultivars with a low level of nitrate accumulation. The study of the abundant genetic diversity in the green bean collection in IIPGR - Sadovo is a necessary preliminary stage in the breeding of cultivars with a lower level of nitrate accumulation. A collection of 24 local and 7 introduced accessions with a low nitrate content has been made. The correlation has been established between nitrate content and 17 characters that might serve as a diagnostic mark for selection for low nitrate content. | |
