Abstract:
Numerous lines, varieties, and wild species of pepper and tomato are collected and stored in the germplasm bank in Northern Greece.
Vegetable market surpluses have been relatively low and the market is characterized by significant annual fluctuations and negative tendencies for the investigated varieties of vegetables.
The present paper examines the qualitative characteristics of two varieties (tomato, pickling pepper) introduced from abroad into Northern Greece and cultivated under controlled conditions (glasshouse) in the Agricultural research Center of Macedonia-Thraki, in order to meet consumers needs.
