THE OVERWINTERING ABILITY AND QUALITY OF LETTUCE VARIETIES GROWN OUTDOORS AND IN GREENHOUSES

Authors:   D. Milan, Z. Jasmina, &. Radiša
Keywords:   lettuce, overwintering, place of planting, quality, yield
Abstract:
The aim of this paper is the evaluation of lettuce resistance to winter conditions and the quality of the lettuce varieties grown outdoors (in the field) or in unheated greenhouses.

The main characteristics of the Ravel variety and R-63, a newly selected variety, are high yield and a good tolerance to low temperatures (i.e. winter conditions). Consequently, they are recommended for growing in the autumn-early spring period.
