ISHS Acta Horticulturae 462: I Balkan Symposium On Vegetables and Potatoes

IN VITRO REGENERATION AND PROPAGATION OF POTATO AND ITS GENETIC HOMOGENEITY DETERMINATION BY MEANS OF PROTEIN POLYMORPHISM OF TUBERS

Authors:   D. Merja, A. Stasa
Abstract:
In this paper are summarized some experimental methodical results concerning the regeneration, rapid propagation of potatoes using some varieties through meristem culture and also evaluation of varietal stability by means of iso-electric focusing of tuber proteins in poly-acrylamide gel. From five different media used, better results for plantlet regeneration have been taken with naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), indole-acetic acid (IAA) and kinetin (Kin), especially for cv. Premiere, Diamant and Escort. In the process of full regeneration of potato, no case of mutation has been appeared according to the genetic homogeneity control through protein polymorphism of tubers.
