| Abstract:
The use of plastic greenhouses has rapidly expanded in the Mediterranean region during the last three decades. This paper will discuss some technical problems which these greenhouses are facing: the mechanical strength of the structures, light transmission, the quality of the plastic materials used, ventilation openings, and the shape of the constructions. In addition, problems and trends in heating, ventilation, cooling, shading, light control, relative humidity, and carbon dioxide control in the greenhouses are treated. | |
