Abstract:
The test of the restoring and maintaining relationship between 10 different cytoplasmic male sterile (CMS) lines showed that Xin-4–2A, Xin-4–3A, Xin-4–4A, Ning 4A, AB1 and pol CMS line Xin-4–1A; S45A, Shanghai Green A and nap CMS line 5021A, have the same restorers and maintainers, respectively, but ogu CMS line P24 A has completely different restorers with pol CMS and nap CMS. The RFLP and mt DNA fragment polymorphism analysis showed that the cytoplasm of Xin-4–2A, Xin-4–3A, Xin-4–4A, Ning 4A and AB1 is the same as that of Xin-4–1A of pol CMS, and the cytoplasm of S45A and Shanghai Green A is the same as that of Westar S which has the cytoplasm of nap CMS. The cytoplasm of P24A is completely different from that of all CMS lines and their maintainers.
Therefore, we may conclude that: Xin-4–1A, Xin-4–2A, Xin-4–3A, Xin-4–4A, Ning 4A and AB1 are all pol CMS lines, S45A, 5021A, Westar S and Shanghai Green A are all nap CMS lines and P24A is a ogu CMS line.
