EFFECT OF IRRIGATION ON FLOWERING, FRUITING AND MALFORMATION IN MANGO

Authors:   C.P. Singh, S. Ram
Keywords:   Mangifera indica, Dashehari, production
Abstract:
The effect of irrigation on panicle emergence and floral malformation in Dashehari mango was studied. Separate sets of trees were irrigated from October to January twice at fortnightly interval. In each irrigation, single tree was given 500 1 water in the basin. Irrigation done from October to December adversely affected fruiting without controlling malformation. Trees irrigated in January reduced the intensity of floral malformation considerably without adversely effecting fruiting.
