Abstract:
In Belarus sapropel for it's stocks is occupied second place after peat.
The stocks of sapropel are about 1,2 Mt.
The comparative evaluation of peat-manure compost and sapropel efficiency application for planting of the apple seedlings was given in the experiments of 1992–1995 years.
It was established that this kind of sapropel (it contains 28.3% SiO2 of dry matter) may be used instead of peat-manure compost in the horticultural nursery and must be applied in combination with nitrogen mineral fertilizers.
Doses of sapropel and nitrogen of fertilizers depend on soil fertility.
The index “stock of potentially assimilable nitrogen” (the sum of mineral and lightly hydrolizable nitrogen) may be applied for nitrogen nutrition soil diagnostic of apple grafted seedlings.
