| Abstract:
A gene coding for the oxalate oxidase enzyme was introduced into tomato cv. Ailsa Craig to determine the response of transformants to salt stress. Selected transformants were evaluated for salt tolerance under glasshouse conditions. They produced more fruits under salt stress than the non-transformed control and the stress influenced the level of enzyme activity in roots and fruits. | |
