Abstract:
A new gold leaf cultivar Forsythia koreana 'Suwon Gold' is a somaclonal variant derived via mass propagation in vitro of F. koreana 'Seoul Gold' variegate at Suwon, Korea in 1994. It has gold yellow leaves and adds aesthetic value to landscapes as a carried out to investigate leaf characteristics and DNA fingerprint by RADP (Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA) of the new gold leaf cultivar ‘Suwon Gold’. Furthermore, its growth characteristics by shading and its mass propagation in vitro were examined.
