Abstract:
Different basic media and cytokinins were tested to obtain the greatest number of shoots in the best quality.
The maximal shoot proliferation number was achieved with 0.5 mg/l TDZ (7,1 pieces), but those were not elongated and some of them were vitrified.
With the use of BAR almost no vitrification occurred and the shoot proliferation rate exceeded 4 shoots per inoculum. 2 mg/l silver-nitrate mixed into the culture medium decreased the number of vitrificated plantlets.
Also the cooling of the medium to 15 °C gave similar results.
