THE MARKETING AND PRODUCTION OF HAZELNUT IN TURKEY |

| Abstract:
The production areas, production amount, yield and export of hazelnut in Turkey tend to increase continuously. In this study in consequence of trend calculation, it was forecasted that there will be 510 948 ha sowing area, 533 506 tons/nut production amount, 1 044 kg/ha yield, 47 534 tons/nut domestic consumption and 545 142 tons/nut export of hazelnut in the year of 2000 in Turkey. The result has shown that the problems in relation to the production areas and yield increase of hazelnut at present will not appear in the future. However, it would be possible that the export level achieved should be progressed. | |
