Abstract:
A non destructive test is proposed for sexing 1- or 2- years-old kiwifruit seedlings without hampering their development.
Active dividing calli were produced in darkness from leaf petioles by in vitro culture.
These calli were used for soluble peroxidase activity determination.
The soluble peroxidase activity was different, depending on whether the calli originate from male or female materials.
The test has proved in the laboratory to give constant results during two successive years.
