| Abstract:
The effect of shoot portions (apical, middle and basal) used as primary explants, together with the aeration conditions of the cultures, on the in vitro propagation of Juglans regia L. have been studied. Apical shoot portions gave the best results in terms of shoot length and percentage of rooting and survival to ex vitro conditions. Middle and basal portions arises lower values in shoot elongation, rooting and acclimatization. However, basal portions produced the maximum number in the development of axillary buds, which gave place to the formation of multiple shoots. The use of vented caps gave way to a decrease in the micropropagation rate. Although, probably a higher ventilation can induce the formation of more hardened shoots to survive ex vitro conditions. | |
