INVESTIGATIONS ON COLD STORAGE AND POSTHARVEST PHYSIOLOGY OF J.H.HALE PEACH |

| Abstract:
The postharvest physiology of J.H.Hale peach was studied. This variety has firm flesh and is suitable for transport. Fruits were stored at O°C and 85–90 % relative humidity for five weeks. Fruits were analyzed for weight loss (%), total soluble solids (%), titratable malic acid contents, fruit flesh firmness, pH and peel colour. Weight loss and total soluble solids increased with time of storage whereas titratable malic acid content and flesh firmness continuously decreased. Our results indicate that J.H.Hale can be successfully stored for 4–5 weeks at O°C. | |
