Authors:   E. Tanriver, A.B. Küden, N. Kaska, S. Eti
Abstract:
This experiment was carried out during 1991–1992 on the fertilization biology of the selected fig clones (01-IM-02 female and 01-I-02 caprifig) from Çukurova region. In the experiment, the development of the pistillate and staminate flowers in every vegetation period of syconia were investigated under microscope. The initiation of the pistillate flowers was seen on the samples of 22nd April.

On of 16th June, the male wasps entered the syconia and the pollination began. On the samples of 21st of June the style turned to brown, the ovule was swollen and the testa was hardened. Some of the wasps couldn't emerge into the ovule and stayed between the leaves of the ostiolum.

In early and mid april, the wasps released from the “mammoni” crop, entered into the syconia of the “mamme” crop and laid their eggs into the ovary. The male and the gall flowers had already been receptive when the female flowers initiated.
