TABLE FIG SELECTION STUDY IN THE KAHRAMANMARAS PROVINCE OF TURKEY

Abstract:
Turkey has great variations and distributions in wild fig forms as well as fig cultivars. Kahramanmaras province has a special importance in respect to the genetic resources of figs. This study was carried out in Kahramanmaras province during 1993–1995. Fifty two fig types were determined in this selection study. 461–1, 461–4 and 461–5 types of Abbas, 462–1, 462–4, 462–6 and 462–12 types of Bardak and 4619 Pasa fig types which had the highest values in all the pomological analysis and the evaluations according to the weighted rankit method were found to be best table fig types.
