Abstract:
The effect of four irrigation treatments on anatomical features of leaves and roots of Banaty and Red Romi grapevine transplants was studied.
Results indicated that water stress had increased cuticle thickness, epidermal cell area and intercellular air spaces in leaves, whereas it decreased number and size of xylem elements and phloem tissues in roots.
In Addition, drought affected plants showed smaller palisade and spongy cells and narrow xylem area in leaf sections.
