Abstract:
A dynamic model based on the linear systems theory is implemented in designing optimal feedback control strategies to efficiently manage residual flows in an enclosed agroecosystem.
Linear quadratic regulators (LQRs) with output feedback control of a linear-invariant system are chosen for the design algorithm and optimal proportional (P) and proportional plus integral (PI) feedback control strategies are synthesized.
To illustrate this procedure, the design is applied to manage residual phosphorus concentrations in a typical integrated pig/corn farming system located at south Taiwan region.
A sensitivity analysis shows feedback gains associated with residual phosphorus in pig farm are far more sensitive compared with that in corn field.
