Abstract:
Rose flower production in greenhouses on rockwool slabs requires a high labor and energy input, produces a large volume of waste materials and effluents and lacks the flexibility to respond to market fluctuations.
Automation of labor tasks, closed systems based on water culture, energy efficient production by use of cogeneration, plants stage dependent production environments and uniform plants with synchronized harvest are major components of a proposed integrated production system.
