ISHS Acta Horticulturae 44: IX International Symposium on Fruit Tree Virus Diseases

CROP REDUCTION IN PEAR TREES CAUSED BY VIRUS INFECTION

Author:   A. Thomsen
Abstract:
Four virus diseases, rough bark of pears, vein yellow, pear ring mosaic and stony pit, decreased the yield during a 7 year period in the pear varieties 'Beurré Hardy', 'Bosc', 'Clara Frijs' and 'Williams'. Rough bark disease stunted the affected trees considerably, and fruits from stony pit affected trees were of no value.
