DUAL INFECTION OF ROUNDEL CHERRY WITH RING MOTTLE AND EUROPEAN RUSTY MOTTLE VIRUSES

1. chlorotic rings, patches and mottle developed on the foliage in May,
2. bright yellow to red rusty spots and lines with islands of green developed on the foliage in July.

It has been found that the first type of symptom is caused by a sap transmisble ring mottle strain of prune dwarf virus and the second by a non-sap transmissible virus, probably, European rusty mottle virus, both viruses being latent in concomitance in the parental host Roundel cherry.
