Abstract:
Frigo (cold stored) plantlets, cv.
Elsanta, were planted in mid-March in bags filled with peat (12.5 plants/m2). Two systems of cultivation were researched: (1) plants in peat bags set on hanging gutters, 1.5 m above the ground, and (2) plants in peat bags set on 30 cm high platforms.
For plants in peat bags set on gutters fruits ripened earlier and the total and commercial yield was higher than for those in peat bags set on platforms.
As the result of earlier ripening on gutters, gross income calculated per m2 of cultivation area was also higher.
