Abstract:
‘Xichu’ and Fuyu' are the two promising cultivars of persimmon (Diospyros kaki L.) grown in Thailand at present.
However, fruit size in both cultivars is rather small.
For increasing fruit size, some growth regulators, i.e.
GA3, GA4+7, at concentration of 2.5 mg/l 2.5% Promalin (BA+GA4+7) and 5% Goemar BM 86 (seaweed) were sprayed to fruits in both cultivars until runoff on April 10, 1995 at The Royal Angkhang Station.
Growth regulator treatments were found to have no prominent effect in increasing fruit size and fruit qualities in both cultivars.
Besides, in Fuyu, treated fruits were smaller than the untreated ones.
Promalin and Goemar Bm 86 increased perfect seeds in ‘Xichu’ but not in ‘Fuyu’. Opened calyx seemed to increase in fruits treated with growth regulators in both cultivars.
