Abstract:
This project adresses the following questions: adaptation of virus tests, eradication of viruses by meristem culture and rapid propagation of virus-free tissue in vitro and by bulb segmentation and twin-scaling.
The method of desinfestation of tissues for in vitro culture, isolation of buds containing meristems and media for buds growth and shoot regeneration from flower stems and scale bases were adapted.
Some microscopic observations during regeneration in vitro were carried out.
The preliminary experiments on adaptation of ELISA tests using monoclonal antibodies against double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) were performed.
Virus like particles were observed by electron microscopy.
