Abstract:
An economic analysis of two potato cultivars was made at two sustainability factors, i.e. 4 nitrogen levels (0, 50, 100, and 150 kg N/ha) and 5 dates of haulms cutting, i.e. 80, 90, 100, 110 and 120 days after planting (DAP) which made 20 treatment combinations.
Highest net return was obtained when nitrogen was applied at 150 kg/ha and haulms were cut at 120 DAP in both the cultivars.
Net profit increased by 540 USD in cultivar Kufri Lalima in comparison to Kufri Bahar.
It was concluded that proper nitrogen application and crop duration both are important factors in harnessing good yield and finally net profit.
