Abstract:
With the aim of making a contribution to the studies and of furthering the knowledge the viticultural situation in the Province of Arezzo, starting from 1993 a study was begun of the agro-climatic characteristics of the area with special attention to the Sangiovese variety. 22 different vineyards having different environments were singled out, in which the various phenological phases and mainly productive characteristics were identified.
In each environment a meteorological station was installed in order to record the temperatures and rainfall.
All meteorological data collected were processed according to different bioclimatic summations, avarages and indices.
The results obtained enable the territory of the Province of Arezzo to be subdivided into certain macrozones with similar phenological-productive characteristics.
Lastly some simple and multiple correlations were identified between environmental parameters and certain qualitative characteristics of the different production obtained in the different vineyards.
