Abstract:
(Address delivered during the closing session)
This International Pineapple Symposium constituted a second important step in the efforts towards pooling of research results for the benefit of the growers and other members of pineapple industry in the various producing regions of the world.
Research efficiency is evidently lowered by the lack of communication between scientists, which often results from isolation or insufficient financial resources.
Collective progress should result from exchanges of results and also the provoked interrogations.
Confrontation also avoids unuseful duplicating of experimentations.
