Abstract:
The latex red test, described in this paper is a rapid, simple and reliable method to indicate, at an early stage, accumulation and adhesion of microparticles onto the xylem surface of cut rose stems.
These microparticles can range from humic-, soily-, plant-, macromolecular or microbial origin as well.
The results of the latex red test can be obtained- within 30 min after execution.
Each test takes appr. 1–2 min of handling.
A binocular stereo objective (45X) is needed for observation.
