Abstract:
The National Rose Group is presently composed of 14 rose gardens and 7 breeders-growers spread out over the whole country.
Its activities and purposes consist in:
- setting up a national and harmonized file.
This file include all the varieties listed in the different collections with 9 descriptive traits.
- carrying out and using a common descriptive file to describe the varieties in a comparable way.
Based on internationally used standards of description for modern roses, this file include 41 characters, nine of which are more specifically dedicated to the description of old and botanical rose trees.
The expected results and the advantage of this work for a common well thought-out management of rose resources existing in the country are presented.
